Property Stolen and
Recovered
Second
hand dealers and pawnbrokers are all working with the Police at
Scunthorpe to disrupt the stolen property market following house
burglaries and car crime.
These
companies do not wish to trade in stolen property. They have been
briefed by Police and are using Smartwater detection equipment
on property offered by people for sale or to be pawned. Anyone
doing business in this way has nothing to fear if the property
is not stolen.
These
companies are being supplied with details of crimes and property
in much the same way as displayed here and on the safelinks crime
maps but the information that the public will be able to view
is not necessarily the same as the details the dealers will receive
as part of police tactics.

information will be displayed on this panel.
There
is also nothing to stop people who have had property stolen contacting
safelinks with information for publication. Second hand dealers
operate stolen property reports as a service to victims of crime
too.
