| Making
Things Better in North and North East Lincolnshire
Safelinks
tries to remove the casual approach to crime prevention and to
use teamwork to stop the efforts of criminals.
The
web site is an easy way for everybody in North and North East
Lincolnshire to see what crimes are happening in your area and
to communicate with each other on safety in this area. This enables
communities to be much stronger against criminals and trouble
makers.
Please
ask us - we know how to find the answers. Click "contact
safelinks" and send in your question.
To
find which neighbourhood policing area you are in hover over the
interactive map on the safelinks home page and that part of the
map will light up. Left click on the North or North East Lincolnshire
area. Then hover and left click on one of the five areas on the
next map. The areas correspond to the areas on the menu to the
left of the map.
You can reduce your
risk of burglary, car crime, anti social behaviour and the effects
of drug dealing if you know what criminals are up to in your area.
Safelinks provides this information.
People like
to do things they are comfortable with and criminals are no exception.
It follows that if a burglary or car crime takes place at a certain
spot there is a vastly increased chance of similar happening in
a similar way nearby. If you have this information you can take
reasonable steps to stop a crime happening to you.
The
reporting of every incident is important to build a picture
of criminal activity.
Where
you would previously have contacted neighbourhood policing teams
by phone to voice concerns or give information about who is committing
crime take the weight off their shoulders and call us. The information
can then land right on the spot. I have just reached 44
years service to the public without breaking a confidence. Your
information will be passed to a person who I know will make proper
use of it. If you don't see what you need on the maps and pages
please call safelinks. If
you need information about incidents in your area let the police
get on with catching criminals and call us. We will find the facts
for you and also feed the police the info you supply.
If
you need to remain anonymous please ring Crimestoppers on 0800
555 111.
If
you report anything following information on this site please
post a message on the site.
Be
sure to check newsflash, car crime
news and your area crime map. Please call safelinks with
any query about ASBO. Each local area news page holds the details
and images of a a selection of people subject an antisocial behaviour
order. From each of the areas you can find local area news
and crime maps from the drop down menu. The map tab will take
you to a Google map and by double clicking the map or using the
scroll bar you can enlarge the map. Click on the items on left
or the balloons to read about recent crimes. Sometimes the Google
maps show an error state and need a wake up. You can do
this by just clicking the refresh button.
There are
now six maps from the safelinks site. They are the two car crime
maps, two area crime maps and two commercial maps.
Once you
have found the maps explore them by enlarging the maps by means
of the zoom buttons + and -
A quick
way to zoom is to double click any area of the map with your left
mouse button. You can move around the map by holding down the
centre of the map with your left mouse button and then dragging
in any direction you wish and then dropping.
Then
perhaps go to the safety advice page.
Any problems just "contact safelinks"
Please check
details of people in your area who have anti social behaviour
orders through "local area news" from each area.
If
you have photos or video clips to send to Police please go to
contact safelinks and send me a request. I will give you
an email address to send an attachment.
There
is relevant crime prevention advice from the safety
advice tab.
Please
think about receiving email alerts by installing your email address
on the home page or from top right from this page. This takes you
to areas of interest. Click the ones you want. Safelinks will start
to send you alerts about important or urgent matters but keep browsing
and then you will see how up to date the site is. You can easily
unsubscribe if its not for you. Tell your friends about the site.
The
site is not the way to report emergencies. The
999 system should be used if you see a crime being committed or
for any dangerous incident. For other calls ring Police on 0845
60 60 222.
Groups of
residents working together in an area does reduce crime and provide
peace. If you are interested in starting a group in your area
please call safelinks via "Contact Safelinks" and I
will put you in touch with colleagues who will help you.
The information
about crime can be used to avoid crime by altering habits such
as where you park, not leaving items in the car including in the
glove box or boot and the importance of securing houses, even
if you are in another room.
Our
aim is to help you see just how safe Northern Lincolnshire is
and to make improvements.
Please leave
us a message so we can make the site and this area better.
